Marko Panzic

Marko Panzic - Creative Director, Choreographer, Producer, Dancer - has an incredible background in many areas of the entertainment industry. He first hit our TV screens in 2008 as a top 20 finalist in the 1st season of So You Think You Can Dance. He then returned in season 2, 3 and 4 as a featured choreographer. He’s also been involved as a Performance Producer for The Voice Australia and Australia’s Got Talent in addition to his role as the Director of The Dream Dance Company - Australia’s first commercial touring company.

Now, Marko is excited to bring his story and the lessons learned throughout his career to our team at Dance Studio Ignite. He’s happy to be involved because he believes the most important lesson to learn is...to always keep learning! Moving from dancer to teacher to choreographer to producer to director to studio owner...there’s a lot of learning and a lot of ups and downs to deal with as well. From dealing with rejection, working with other artists and managing executives and directors...there are many lessons Marko has absorbed along the way on how to successfully navigate the roadblocks. He’s ready to share these experiences and life lessons with you!

His deep passion about the Australian Dance Industry prompted his interest in becoming the Artistic Director of The Australian Dance Festival so his voice would be heard. As part of Dance Studio Ignite, he is ready to discuss and share his views regarding the industry and how it can be improved - from training methods to operating and marketing a business and, more important, how we can all help future artists (your students) have the level of success he has enjoyed.

Managing complex and demanding situations, teamwork, constantly pushing to create what’s needed in the industry when there’s a gap to be filled…these are the types of experiences Marko is happy to impart to people around the globe. This is why we’re excited to have Marko as part of the Dance Studio Ignite team!

Clint Salter

By age 28 Clint had created, built and sold three businesses (two of them in dance). He started dancing jazz at age nine before moving on to tap, ballet and hip hop. Then, in a fortuitous turn of events, a former teacher of his sold her studio. Clint had parents actually approaching him to ask if he would teach their children—and open up his own Dance Studio. So, at the ripe age of 16, Clint and a friend started their own studio.

It started as a small studio, with just 30 students. Fast-forward five years and it was operating six days a week, with a total enrolment of a few hundred students. Clint and his partner had built a booming business—and Clint was only 21. Around that time, Clint decided to sell his half of the studio to his partner as he prepared to start working at the top celebrity agency in Australia managing some of the biggest names in television and media.

Over the five years Clint was with the talent agency he was responsible for pitching ideas and securing commercial endorsements, licensing, publishing, television, radio and speaking deals for his stable of high-profile clients. During this time Clint also created Dance Life, Australia’s largest community for dancers and performers. In four years of operation, Dance Life became Australia’s bible of all things dance: an online resource for dancers, a large dance competition and a learn-to-dance program for primary and high schools. Clint sold DanceLife after four years to take an opportunity to be the Touring Manager for the musical “Jersey Boys,”where he travelled internationally while managing a team of 56 people.

After spending so much time working at the agency and running his businesses, Clint decided he wanted to share with Dance Studio Owners the knowledge he’d accumulated. He wanted to help Studio Owners learn how to design their lives and create a thriving, profitable studio that allowed them to spend more time working “on” rather than “in” the business, something that is accomplished by creating a rock-solid automated business model as well as running a year long student attraction and retention strategy. Clint is now the Founder of Studio Success Formula, the Business School for Dance Studio Owners, where he offers mentoring and online training programs to help Studio Owners turn their passion for dance into a profitable business that makes a big difference in the lives of their dance families.

Dance is in the spotlight. Notice the opportunity!

We’re extremely lucky to be part of an industry that has seen rapid growth over the last five years. Dance really is in the global spotlight—there have never been more dance-related TV shows, films, books, magazines, programs and websites in this lifetime. It’s exciting!

There are only two times in life. There’s now or there’s too late.

The recent dance boom has meant more people than ever are aware of dance classes, and more people want to get in on the action. It’s important that you’re aware of this excellent opportunity and act fast to ensure that you become the “GO-TO” studio in your area sooner rather than later—when it might be too late. It’s all about having: a solid business model and automated administration system in place to support hundreds of students; a strategic, scheduled student attraction and retention plan; and, most importantly, a success mindset. These four things will allow you to spend more time on life rather than on business, which means your stress levels will go down and you’ll be able to enjoy a life outside the studio—in addition to making a great living. Imagine that!
